LITCHFIELD — The Southwest Initiative Foundation and its community affiliate, Litchfield Area Community Foundation, have started an emergency fund called Meeker County Tornado Recovery Effort Fund to provide long-term financial help to those who were affected by Monday’s tornadoes.

In a news release, Nancy Fasching, Southwest Initiative Foundation’s community impact director, said “In times of an emergency, the immediate response from organizations like the Red Cross is absolutely crucial. But long-term recovery efforts are just as important. That’s where Southwest Initiative Foundation and Litchfield Area Community Foundation can help.”
