NWS says seven tornadoes hit Oklahoma

Damage assessments from Monday’s deadly tornado outbreak began on Tuesday.

The National Weather Service, according to Rick Smith from the Oklahoma office, have found 7 tornadoes to have hit Oklahoma.

In Garvin and Murray counties the tornadoes were rated an EF-3.

EF-1 tornadoes hit in Roff, Johnston County, Atoka /Coal County and in Bennington /Boswell.

The tornado in Hugo is still being investigated.

According to Murray County’s emergency management director Gary Ligon, one person suffered minor injuries south of Roff.

Several homes in Coal County suffered tornado damage, and the radio station at the Atoka /Coal County line was destroyed, but no injuries have yet been reported.

In Bryan County, straight line winds are thought to be responsible for damage in the county. The assessment is ongoing.

In Choctaw County, a tornado touched down in Boswell

In Texas,south Paris was hit by golf ball size hail south of Loop 286, and U.S. Highway 82 was closed for a time around 9 p.m. Monday due to flash flooding.

A swift water rescue took place on the 2800 block of Lamar as a car flooded with elderly people trapped inside.
