Another Pa. tornado confirmed, bringing the state’s total to 29 for the year and 13 in May

Another tornado touched down in Pennsylvania this week but this time in Tioga County, according to a release from the National Weather Service Sunday morning.

The tornado spotted near Whitneyville, with a maximum wind speed of 75 mph, cut a swath of approximately 50 yards for 1 mile.

Hundreds of trees and branches were downed, but there was little other property damage recorded. No injuries were reported.

On the same day, a tornado was confirmed in Sullivan County. Pennsylvania has been hit by 29 tornadoes already this year, and 13 of those were in May.
