COVINGTON, Tenn. — Damage reported in Covington could be due to a tornado reported in the area earlier.

There are snapped poles with downed power lines.

Other damage is being reported throughout the town, including a big tree completely uprooted from the ground.

A business owner said the storm ripped the roof off of his shed — but that’s not all.

“This trailer is a storage trailer, it was sitting on this concrete pad. And scooted, I haven’t measured it yet, at least 15 feet or more. Blew the other trailer completely over against a truck that I had parked there, which shoved into another truck.”

Officials say the damage stretches from Crestview Elementary to Highway 54. Crews have nine miles of the road blocked off while they work to repair power lines.

Highway 179 is also closed as you enter Covington.

Thankfully, no one was hurt.
