Tornado touches down overnight near Pauls Valley, leaves behind significant damage

PAULS VALLEY, Okla. —
A tornado reportedly touched down overnight near Pauls Valley, causing damage to the area.

A tornado warning was issued for Garvin and McClain counties at about midnight.

According to the Pauls Valley Fire Department, no residents were injured and some horses were hurt. One house was damaged and several barns were destroyed. Multiple trees are down.

Officials with the Garvin County Emergency Management confirmed that a tornado touched down and destroyed a few outbuildings about 2 1/2 miles north of Wynnewood, damaging a home.

Officials said most of the damage in the Pauls Valley area are reported on NCR3290, north off of ECR 1570, and NCR 3285, south off of ECR1570.

Emergency crews are also dealing with flooded roadways in the area Wednesday morning.

Storms will continue to move across the state Wednesday and severe weather threat will return.
