MT. HOLLY, N.J. – The National Weather Service has confirmed six tornadoes formed around the region during Tropical Storm Isaias, including one each in Bucks and Montgomery counties.

The National Weather Service did not confirm their specific locations or severity during Tuesday’s storm, but Doylestown, Bucks County saw major damage.

A tornado had been suspected in that area after strong winds heavily damaged part of Doylestown Hospital’s campus. The roof was partially ripped off the Childrens Village daycare, and cars were tossed around the parking lot.

All 135 children inside were safe, and no serious injuries were reported.

The bleachers at Central Bucks West High School were also left twisted and mangled.

The other confirmed tornadoes were in Ocean and Cape May counties in New Jersey, Queen Anne’s County in Maryland, and Kent/New Castle counties in Delaware, the NWS said.

A final assessment with more details on the tornadoes is expected in the next few days, the NWS said.

Several tornado warnings were issued during the day Tuesday as Isaias moved up the coast.
