Smithfield barn damaged in storm after tornado warning

SMITHFIELD – The Smithfield Fire Protection District has arrived on the scene of a heavily damaged barn after a tornado warning in Fulton County.

No injuries were reported.

The Fulton County Emergency Services and Disaster Agency (ESDA) said it is possible there was a tornado touchdown in the areas northeast of Smithfield. They also reported there is no other widespread damage.

There were previously reported “scud” clouds, or clouds that resemble funnel clouds or tornadoes. They were prominent in the area around 5:10-5:25 p.m. Thursday.
