Tornado forms over water and moves onshore in Fort Walton Beach

FORT WALTON BEACH, FL (WALA) –
A tornado formed over water and moved onshore in Fort Walton Beach Sunday afternoon.

According to the city, several homes were damaged, power lines downed, and trees knocked over. Video from Fort Walton Beach City Hall security cameras showed a truck getting picked up and dropped back down as the tornado moved by.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, at least one home was destroyed. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.

The National Weather Service will send a survey team to the area to determine the strength of the tornado.
