Since Wednesday, thunderstorms developing over the Delmarva Peninsula have spun up a flurry of funnel clouds — some quite dramatic.

Today, the National Weather Service filed several reports of funnel cloud sightings around Easton and Oxford, Md., between 12:45 and 1:30 p.m. One funnel, at least briefly, touched the ground. In a warning issued at 12:52 p.m. for east central Talbot County, the Weather Service said emergency management confirmed that a tornado was on the ground between Oxford and Trappe.

We haven’t seen reports of damage, but numerous witnesses captured photos of the funnel cloud.

On Wednesday, a funnel cloud was seen by onlookers in Ocean City, Md. The funnel did not touch down and there was no damage.

Farther south, there was a confirmed waterspout seen moving onshore near Assateague Island, which prompted a tornado warning for southeastern Worcester County at 12:47 p.m. Wednesday.

We have not seen any reports of damage from this storm.
