Some people in Hamilton said they’re grateful to be alive after a storm blew in Wednesday evening, damaging cars and homes. The Wilmington office conducted a damage survey to see if a tornado downed trees and left multiple homes damaged in Hamilton.

Some residents say they had to take shelter underground as the storm rolled through Wednesday evening.

Trees were uprooted and toppled over decks, cars and homes in the Lindenwald area. No injuries were reported.
Residents also say they saw a funnel cloud. Weather service monitors saw rotation on radar for a short period of time, and sirens were set off in Butler County.

No tornado warning was issued, but the area was under a severe thunderstorm warning at the time.

NWS workers have been combing through videos and photos of the clouds. It will work with Butler County emergency management for the survey and inspection. The city said that crews are working to remove debris from streets and sidewalks and place it at the curb, where it will be removed next week.
