Tornado Confirmed in Madison County

(Marquand) The National Weather Service in St. Louis has confirmed an EF-1 tornado touched down Sunday evening in eastern Madison County.

The twister, with peak winds of 110 miles per hour, first touched down just south of Marquand and continued on a track into Bollinger County.

The tornado was a third of a mile wide.

There were no injuries or deaths associated with this twister.

Details about the tornado that moved into Bollinger County are still being gathered by the National Weather Service in Paducah, Kentucky.

Storm damage was reported in the Marquand and Patton areas.

Reported damage from this storm included a barn roof blown off, a TV antenna was snapped in half, a car port leveled and many trees snapped in half.

The weather service is still surveying other possible tornadoes that may have struck Sunday evening in the listening area.
