The natural phenomenon is seen swirling in between skyscrapers, going from one side of the camera to another.

Two people were injured and more than 200 houses were damaged when the tornado struck in the city of Manila, in the Philippines on Sunday (August 14).

Karen Madrigal – who took the video – said: “I was working on my laptop in our condo when I saw this huge tornado passing the port area for about 2 minutes.

“I was astonished to see this since it’s probably the first time that something as big as this happened in the Philippines.”

In fact, it is the second time a tornado has struck the capital city.

She added: “I also felt terrified and wondered how something as wonderful as this can cause great damage to my city.”

The tornado comes as heavy rainfall and flooding hit the region.

Around 70,000 people are predicted to have been affected in the Philippines with five people reported dead.

The remarkable footage is just one example of the devastating force of nature.

Another clip recently emerged of a lightning storm completely obliterating a telephone pole and railway platform in Chicago, US.
