Damage survey shows EF0 tornado hit Fayette County

FAYETTE COUNTY, Tenn. (WMC) – The National Weather Services says a small tornado whipped through Fayette County during Monday’s severe weather.

A fast-moving thunderstorm traveled its way across the Mid-South but a damage survey shows an EF0 tornado hit Fayette County about five miles north of Piperton.

The tornado was 1.2 miles in length and 50 yards in width.

Although an EF0 is a weaker storm, NWS says wind speeds can be anywhere from 65 to 110 mph.
