NWS: EF-1 tornado causes damage Saturday in St. James Parish near Paulina

PAULINA, La. —
The National Weather Service survey team said an EF-1 tornado touched down in St. James Parish Saturday morning.

The NWS said the tornado had a 1.16 mile track and was 50 yards wide between Denise St and Sugarhouse Ln. EF-1 damage was reported along Hwy 642 and the St. Joseph Street area, northwest of

Paulina with estimated max winds of 100 mph. One home reportedly had the roof completely removed and several others with significant roof damage.

Emergency managers in St. Charles Parish reported damage in Paradis. There was tree and power pole damage and a carport torn off of a home.

Another report from St. Charles Parish showed minor wind damage along Fonda Street between Audubon Street and Robert Street in Paradis with estimated 60-65 mph winds.
