National Weather Service says tornado hit southeastern Greene County

TURNERS, Mo. — The National Weather Service confirms a tornado damaged an area east of Springfield early Friday.

The EF0 twister hit just before 2 a.m. southwest of Turners. The tornado’s path was nearly two-and-a-half miles long.

The storm uprooted trees. Many of those trees fell on homes in the area.

The Weather Service also classified storms that moved through Shell Knob in Barry County and Chadwick in Christian County as EFO tornadoes.
